Jared is a senior associate and has experience in all forms of general commercial and corporate disputes. In particular, he has worked on a number of high-value professional negligence, breach of contract, and director and shareholder disputes.

He also regularly acts for insolvency practitioners, including in claims against former directors. Jared has experience in both the High Court and Court of Appeal.

  • Advising a high-profile alcohol brand in bringing a passing off claim against a competitor, up to and including Court proceedings, which featured an application for an injunction in the High Court. The case resulted in settlement at the stage of disclosure
  • Acting for dental practice Braceurself Limited in its High Court claim for £4.7 million for loss of profit and bid costs of £26,500. The claim alleged manifest errors and breaches of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 following an unsuccessful bid. The Court gave Braceurself permission to appeal on the ground the Judge had been incorrect when finding that the manifest error was not sufficiently serious to entitle Braceurself to damages
  • Acting for Quantum Actuarial LLP in its long-running dispute with Quantum Advisory Limited, including a recent favourable judgment from the Court of Appeal in January 2023 in which the Court found that the LLP’s obligations to carry out services on Quantum Advisory’s behalf did not include tendering
  • Acting for Quantum Actuarial LLP in relation to the LLP’s use of the “Quantum Advisory” trading name
  • Advising HR Investor Group, a group of 26 individuals and companies, in claims of unlawfully establishing and operating unregulated collective investment schemes, misrepresentation, and deceit, against 12 defendants
  • Acting on behalf of a charitable organisation in respect of its claim against one of the UK’s largest financial institutions for the mis-selling of a number of interest rate hedging products and LIBOR manipulation
  • Acting for a number of officeholders in respect of claims against former directors and other connected parties.
  • Acting on a multimillion-pound professional negligence claim against a law firm for its failure to secure the renewal of a lease with security of tenure under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
